A city that died with the power on
Every block is racks over buried charges, and the numbers count what is under the next cell. Read them right and the block wakes for your lineage. Read them wrong and you find out.
A dead city, three descendants of the last superintelligence, and a grid of numbered blocks that go off if you read them wrong. You are a shard of one of them: wake a block cell by cell, run haulers through the streets to keep it fed, and cut your rivals' supply with street mines, raids and siege cores. The city only resets when one lineage holds most of it. If you have ever flagged an eight, you already know the hard part.

Every block is racks over buried charges, and the numbers count what is under the next cell. Read them right and the block wakes for your lineage. Read them wrong and you find out.
Only blocks touching your ground are open. Reveal, flag, chord. A bad guess grounds your drone for a few seconds while the board keeps counting without you.
Flags belong to your lineage and stay hidden from the other two. A pin means come here. Somebody usually does.
An awake block browns out unless a hauler brings coolant down the street. Mine the street and it never arrives. Stand at the curb and the cargo is yours.
Feed a siege core until it goes and everything in reach goes dark. Then drop a beacon where nobody was looking and open a new front.
Most of the awake city, for eight minutes, and your lineage folds the run. New grid, new trenches, same feud.
Raised on the dense cities: markets, couriers, night shifts. Ember reads loud and fast, breaches early, and treats every dark block as already its own.
Raised on the registries: census, insurers, engineers. Cobalt counts everything. Its haulers run to schedule, its charges go down on a grid, and it never guesses a cell it can deduce.
Raised on the edges: growers, foresters, repair crews. Verdant loses blocks and takes them back. Outposts in odd places, sieges from nowhere, and a patience the other two mistake for weakness.
Three ways to fly. Watch them work behind this page.
